I know, I know. You’ve been pin-ing on Pinterest for the last day and a half with the single-minded determination of James Franco in 127 hours. You are convinced that you are now going to get a side hustle that will make you and your family millionaires. How do I know this? Because it’s me, ohhhhhhhh like every week.
Yup.
Good news is, one pinteresting thing I heard of is audiobook narration. It stuck, in a good way...not like those Pinterest Maple Bacon Biscuits did to my oven.

Here’s what I went through when starting up the side hustle, or side-hustle turned full time in my case, of narration
Now, to answer the first question on everyone’s mind. Can I make money from this?
Answer is: yes. Definitely. The more important question is how long will be it before I profit? For me, I started doing it as a side hustle and put about 5 hours a week for a month just learning what goes into narration. Then I found contracts (1 day), auditioned (2 days), got them (1 week), narrated them (1 month because they were my first), released them (another month), then collected royalties in rears (another month). So, the whole process was not quick. It won’t be. The investment, however, is made to span 7 years at least. It took me about 5 months to get a paycheck working 5 hours a week. Now, I’ll have check every month regardless of whether or not I work.
Again, it’s a slow process. It’s really easy to lose focus over that time, but boy am I glad that i didn’t. The first paycheck wasn’t big. I have mine framed and it was a cool $15.43. That’s fifteen dollars and forty three cents. I looked at my fiance and cried. Literally balled. Each month, that number steadily grew because each contract I took had an exponential effect. All of a sudden, I was making a real paycheck. That took maybe a year of very very part time work.
